A Cultural Center:
The purpose of this project was the bring a new light into the ironbound section of newark. The plan tried to integrate landscape and building back into the existing community via the use of the presently ignored waterfront of the passaic river. By means of utilizing a conceptual master plan for the water front of the passaic river, this project strived to link into this idea and connect a vibrant cultural center for the patrons of the ironbound. The conceptual Cultural Center consists of a theater, an information lobby, and also classrooms and office space. There is also a park like open public space developed in the plan that stretches all the way back to the river and also tries to engulf to building to also make it apart of the landscape fabric that has been imposed through this project. A man made stream that runs through the site also starts to bring the idea of a source of life back into the cultural center to make this area grow even more vibrant than it already is.
